Summer Sundays Adult Education

“I was glad when they said to me,

‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’”

                                Psalm 122

Dwelling in the Word is a different kind of bible study.

 ·         There is no pressure to come up

           with “The Right Answer.”

·         There are, in fact, no “Wrong Answers.”

·          It’s about listening for what jumps out

           at you in the story.

·         And about what God is doing in the

·         And about how God has done something like that in your faith story.

·         Then it’s about listening to someone else in the group tell you what they heard

           in the story.

·         And finally just simply sharing what they said.

Dwelling in the Word builds our ability to see what’s happening in bible stories and how to share that with others.

Dwelling in the Word will be led by Pastors Larry and Dick and Lisa Willi.

There will be no Sunday Adult Education on either Memorial or Labor Day Weekends.

Music Scholarship

media/posts/Grace Music Scholarship ad.png

Who is this scholarship for?

The Grace Music Scholarship used to be just for organists. Now it's for any member of Grace Lutheran Church of any age who wants to learn to play music and to share it in the life of our congregation. So now we offer a maximum of four $320.00 scholarships each year.

  • Organ / keyboard
  • Vocal
  • Instrumental (non-keyboard)
  • Beginner (limited to one scholarship per year)

Because there may not be applicants for each of these categories, the Scholarship Committee may choose to award two or more scholarships in the same category.

For an application and all the details...

Pick up a scholarship information sheet and application in the lobby, church office, buzz room, or parlor desk. Scholarship Deadline is Sunday, August 27.

NEW Community Shelter meal

Grace Lutheran donates the evening meal for the NEW Community Shelter, on the second Saturday of each month.  The people served are NEW residents and people from the community, who can’t quite make ends meet.  They are all ages, from small children to elderly.  All are very thankful.

This past month, the count was 188.  We were lucky that we had extra food, so 42 people came through a second time.

Grace provides 4 Servers, 30 Meatloaves and 7 Desserts.  Servers are there from 4:30 to 6.  No cleanup.  Meatloaves should weigh 2 pounds each.  Deserts should serve 24 and up.  They can be dropped off at the Shelter front desk even a day or two before. Sign up sheets are on the desk in the parlor.  Please consider helping in any way.

Thank you to all the generous donors who contribute each month. To be added to the call list, contact Dawn Fye
